We have a great lineup planned for 2025 Wild Food Weekend
Beginning Friday afternoon, foragers and outdoor enthusiasts alike, gather in at the 4-H camp in Reidsville, NC for a weekend full of wilderness education, wild plant identification and the annual Wild Foods Feast! Come and celebrate 2025 with us!

The Agenda
Friday, April 25th
4:00pm Registration (Rec Hall)
5:00pm Early Arrival Hike (Meet at Flag Pole)
6:00pm Meal – Lunch Room (Picnic tables setup outside also)
7:00pm Free Time – Visit our Vendors
8:00pm Evening Sessions – Speakers (Rec Hall)
8:15pm Wild Food Social Judging (Make sure your dish is on the table by this time. Judging will be held during evening session)
9:00pm Wild Foods Social
10:00pm Night Owl Hike – Mini Flashlights (Meet at Flag Pole)
10:00pm Campfire stories, music at the campfire weather permitting. If raining, rec hall is the backup.
12:00am Quiet time, enter cabins quietly
Saturday, April 26th
7:00am Bird walk and tree talk with Stacy Hicks (meet at flagpole)
7:00am Cooking with Cast Iron with Brandon Greene – Discussion, Care of Cast Iron, Samples (meet at campfire)
8:00am Breakfast (lunch room, picnic tables also setup outside)
9:00am Gather at the rec hall to break into hiking groups (groups leave promptly)
11:00am Free Time
12:00pm Meal – Lunch Room (Picnic tables setup outside also)
1:00pm Gather at the rec hall to break into food groups (groups leave promptly)
4:00pm Table arrangements need to be ready to go on tables
5:00pm Placement of wild dishes
5:30pm Blessing of the food – Feast Starts
7:00pm Clean up your area – everyone on schedule to pitch in
8:00pm Evening Sessions – (Rec Hall)
Wild Spirit Contest – Needs to be on the table by 8pm
You are the judge – sample and vote for the best of the best
9:00pm Campfire area if weather permitting

Sunday, April 27th

9:00am Assorted hikes, meet at the flagpole
9:00am Classroom #2 – Annie-Marie, Herbal Workshop
9:00am Classroom #1 – Pama Love, Lavender
9:00am Picnic Area – Mindy Morgan, Native American Spices
11:00am Rec Hall – Frank Hyman, Mushrooms
12:00pm Meal – Lunch Room (Picnic tables setup outside also)
1:00pm Afternoon open meeting. Ideas, contacts, and guest speakers suggested. This meeting is open to anyone that would like to attend. Held in rec hall.
1pm-3pm NC Wild Foods has the grounds until 3pm. Feel free to take your time and hike around the lake or fish for the largest bass in the beautiful Lake Hazel. (catch/release)
